Educate and treat:  That’s what you do now, right?  What if you expand the locations you do it in?  We think it natural and appropriate for therapists to be in someone else’s home or at a school setting, or on athletic fields and in locker rooms. There’s no reason to hesitate about going into work sites too!

1. Don’t wait for ill or injured patients to find you. Be there in their space. 
2. We may have grown ‘shackles’ on us beginning in our Physical or Occupational Therapy education process and further tightened them in our own experiences.  But it is important to realize those are shackles that you can break out of!!  Although this model includes ‘recovery from events’, it also emphasizes prevention, education for performance, and long-term ability and mobility health. Employers embrace and pay appropriately because it reduces injuries, lowers insurance premiums, and increases workforce productivity.

Why shift your vision and your actions of focus:  

1. Bigger Reach = Bigger Growth … access to a pool of people in pain and potential patients.

….. 50% of our adult population report pain daily.  Think of the relief you can easily bring directly to 50 of the employees in a workforce of only 100. And build the relationship to be the go-to therapy for when ‘events’ occur

2. Less reliance on Insurance for reimbursement … stop waiting for it to get easier to be paid on time.  
3. Stability and Predictability … work with multiple Employers and their Employees – at their site and at yours.  
4. Greater impact… educate and treat.  Repeat.  Keep work teams and family health structures strong.

A Place to Start:  Visit local employer sites – share with them your interest in working more with Employers and Employees and would like to just have a tour, a walk-around to be able to visualize more of what your community of people do.  Select these Employer sites based on: 

• where your current patients work
• through members of local organizations you support 
• simply by your interest and geographic location
